Fake Punts, Touchbacks and Big Plays
Florida's fake punt in the third quarter that eventually led to a touchdown was the first successful fake punt attempted against UT since LSU's Patrick Fisher completed a nine-yard pass to Quinn Johnson in the 2007 SEC Championship Game.
Chad Cunningham recorded the Vols' first touchback of the season to start the second half. It was UT's first in 15 kickoffs. Sophomore wide receiver Zach Rogers' 33-yard reception in the second quarter was a career long after catching a 31-yard strike versus Oregon last week.
Moore was on the receiving end of the Vols' first two passing touchdowns of the season.
Simms to Hunter
Three games into his career, freshman wide receiver Justin Hunter has been involved in several long-distance plays, but none more key than his 35-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Hunter caught a 16-yard pass for a first down in the third quarter as well. He caught three passes for a team-leading and career-high 60 yards.
He also had a 31-yard reception last week against Oregon.
Freshmen on the Line
Season Best for Stocker Senior tight end Luke Stocker had his biggest game of the season, catching a team-leading five passes for 41 yards.
Reveiz Leads Again
Senior linebacker Nick Reveiz had another career day in tackles, pacing the Vols with 14. His set his previous career best last week with 10 tackles against Oregon. Rico McCoy was the last Vol to have at least 10 tackles in consecutive game. The former UT linebacker had 15 against Vanderbilt and 13 against Kentucky last season.
Reveiz now leads the team with 25 tackles.
Other Notable Performances
Sophomore defensive back Janzen Jackson set a career high with nine tackles. His previous best was seven against South Carolina last year. Senior defensive end Chris Walker, who finished third on the team in tackles, matched his best with eight stopes.
Freshman cornerback Eric Gordon set a career high with five tackles.
The Special Teams
Lincoln Matches Career Kick
Senior Daniel Lincoln's 49-yard field goal in the first quarter tied a career-high set against Ohio in 2009.
Lincoln made both his extra point attempts and finished with five points. He leads the team with 24 points.
He has connected on all five field goals this season, including a 48-yarder against Oregon.
