Fake Punts, Touchbacks and Big Plays

Florida's fake punt in the third quarter that eventually led to a touchdown was the first successful fake punt attempted against UT since LSU's Patrick Fisher completed a nine-yard pass to Quinn Johnson in the 2007 SEC Championship Game.

Chad Cunningham recorded the Vols' first touchback of the season to start the second half. It was UT's first in 15 kickoffs. Sophomore wide receiver Zach Rogers' 33-yard reception in the second quarter was a career long after catching a 31-yard strike versus Oregon last week.

The Offense

Touchdown Two

Junior quarterback Matt Simms found senior wide receiver Denarius Moore for a 49-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter. It was the longest completion of Simms' career.

Moore was on the receiving end of the Vols' first two passing touchdowns of the season.

Simms to Hunter

Three games into his career, freshman wide receiver Justin Hunter has been involved in several long-distance plays, but none more key than his 35-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Hunter caught a 16-yard pass for a first down in the third quarter as well. He caught three passes for a team-leading and career-high 60 yards.

He also had a 31-yard reception last week against Oregon.

Freshmen on the Line

True freshman James Stone replaced an injured JerQuari Schofield on the offensive line in the second half. Stone joined Ju'Wuan James as the Vols' second true freshman on the offensive line.

The Defense

Reveiz Leads Again

Senior linebacker Nick Reveiz had another career day in tackles, pacing the Vols with 14. His set his previous career best last week with 10 tackles against Oregon. Rico McCoy was the last Vol to have at least 10 tackles in consecutive game. The former UT linebacker had 15 against Vanderbilt and 13 against Kentucky last season.

Reveiz now leads the team with 25 tackles.

Other Notable Performances

Sophomore defensive back Janzen Jackson set a career high with nine tackles. His previous best was seven against South Carolina last year. Senior defensive end Chris Walker, who finished third on the team in tackles, matched his best with eight stopes.
