TENNESSEE CAPTAINS #64 James Stone (Nashville), #45 A.J. Johnson (Gainesville), #41 Dontavis Sapp (Valdosta), #1 Michael Palardy (Coral Springs) represented the Vols for the pregame coin toss.
VFL LEGEND OF THE GAME Today's Vol For Life Legend of the Game is Tony Robinson, the quarterback who guided the Vols to a 35-20 win over No. 1-ranked Auburn and Heisman Trophy winner Bo Jackson on Sept. 28, 1985.
Robinson played four seasons with the vols from 1982-85 and threw for 3,332 yards, including a career best 1,963 when he was named All-SEC in 1994.
SUTTON ON THE SACK True freshman Cameron Sutton registered his first career sack in the first quarter on Auburn's 3rd Down and 13 at the Tigers' 37.
It was the first sack by a Tennessee DB this season and the first by a UT DB since Prentiss Waggner against South Carolina on Oct. 28, 2011.
OPENING SCORE For just the second time this season and the first time since the season opener. UT scored on its first drive of the game as Michael Palardy connected on a 39-yard field goal. The Vols scored a touchdown on the opening drive of the season vs. Austin Peay (8/31) on a Rajion Neal 47-yard run.
BIG DAN'S BLOCK PARTY Daniel McCullers surged up the middle to block an Auburn PAT on the Tigers first touchdown (Marshall to Uzomah). Tennessee last blocked a PAT on Sept. 29, 2012, at Georgia when McCullers swatted away a Bulldog attempt.
PALARDY DOES IT ALL Michael Palardy had two first-quarter field goals and is now 12-of-14 on the season and 35-of-47 on field goals in his career.
Palardy's 35 made field goals are now seventh all-time in Tennessee history. He passed Ricky Townsend (33, 1972-74) and Carlos Reveiz (34, 1984-86).
Next up on the list is Daniel Lincoln (51, 2007-10)
Palardy's first field goal of the day pushed him past George Hunt (1969-71, 203 points) for 10th place in Tennessee's all-time points list.
Palardy has two punts inside the 20 today, giving him an NCAA FBS-best 25 punts inside the 20-yard line. With two 50-yard punts, Palardy now has 14 on the year.

TEN SCORES FOR NEAL Rajion Neal scored at the 14:50 mark of the second quarter, high stepping into the endzone on a 17-yard run. The score was Neal's 10th of the year and the 17th of his career. The 17-yard score was his longest rushing TD since scoring on a career-long 47-yard run vs. Austin Peay (8/31). At the half, Neal has 69 rushing yards.
DEVRIN DASHES With 58 kickoff return yards in the first half, junior Devrin Young pushed his career total to 1,135 -- past Dennie Rogan and Dale Carter for fifth place on UT's all-time list.

PICK SIX FOR SMITH With 1:28 left in the first half, senior DL Jacques Smith intercepted Marshall and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown. The pick the first of Smith's career. The last Tennessee defensive lineman with an interception returned for a touchdown was Wes Brown's 25-yard pick six vs. Vanderbilt on Nov. 21, 2009. That came on Brown's last play at Neyland Stadium with 25 seconds left in the game.
ODDS & ENDS With 1:41 remaining in the first quarter, Daniel Hood forced a fumble by Auburn's Tre Mason. It was Hood's first first career forced fumble forced.
LaDarrell McNeil recovered the fumble, marking the second fumble recovery of his career. He last recovered a fumble against Missouri in 2012.
With 9:51 remaining in the second quarter, Auburn's Chris Davis returned a punt 85 yards. It's the first AU punt return since 2008. It's the third-longest punt return in Auburn history.
At the half, Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall totaled 164 yards rushing, marking the second consecutive week that an opposing QB has topped 100 yards on the ground. Mizzou's Maty Mauk ran for 114 yards last week.
