Bowen Sargent begins his second season as assistant golf coach on Jim Kelson's Tennessee staff.
"We are very excited about Bowen joining our staff,"
Kelson said at the time of his appointment. "Bowen is a very accompished player
who possesses a great deal of knowledge about the game. Perhaps most importantly,
he understands the commitments to excel at the highest levels."
Sargent came to Tennessee from North Carolina State, where he was an accomplished golfer for the Wolfpack from 1984-87. During his collegiate career, Sargent was a two-time All America selection, as well as a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer. Sargent was also the 1996 Tennessee State Juniors Champion.
"Growing up a Tennessee fan, it is exciting to be working at the University of Tennessee under Jim Kelson," Sargent said. "I look forward to assisting the golf team and sharing my knowledge with the current players and making our program better."
Sargent replaces Randy Wylie, who became an instructor at Fairways and Greens practice facility in Knoxville.
