The Tennessee men's golf team finished in 13th after the final round at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational played at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. The Vols finished the tournament with a scorecard of 293-300-302--895.
Philip Pettitt set the pace for the Big Orange by shooting a final round 2-over-par 74 to finish in a tie for 37th. Pettitt finished the tournament at 6-over-par and with a final scorecard of 70-78-74--222.
Competing in his first tournament of the spring, freshman Chris Paisley turned in his best score of the tournament in the final round. He fired a 2-over-par 74 to finish with a three-round score of 225 and tied for 53rd.
Georgia native Ben Spickard also finished 53rd for Tennessee. He shot a final round 4-over-par to finish with a scorecard of 75-74-76--225.
Jonathan Mount rounded out the Volunteers lineup. Mount fired a 6-over-par 78 in the final round to finish the tournament in 58th.
Senior Lloyd Campbell withdrew from the final round of competition.
Coastal Carolina retained their day-one lead and finished as tournament champions with a final score of 854. South Carolina-Aiken followed in second, with Clemson, Minnesota and UCLA rounding out the top five.
South Carolina-Aiken's Scott Brown took the individual crown by one stroke over Coastal Carolina's Dustin Johnson. UCLA's Erik Flores, Coastal Carolina's Joachim Fourquet and NC State's Stephen Lewton tied for third.
Next up for Tennessee is the United States Collegiate Championships, April 10 and 11 at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.
