ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- The Tennessee men's golf team sits in 13th place after two rounds at the 2014 SEC Championship. The Vols carded a second round 290 (+10) for a 36-hole total of 579 (+19).

On Saturday, sophomore Oliver Goss bounced back to shoot a 69 (-1) and climbed up the leaderboard to 31st position. Goss' under-par round was highlighted by four birdies. Goss has shot six rounds in the 60s on the season.

Last season, Goss finished tied for 23rd at the 2013 SEC Championship with a 219 (+9).

"Today, I began solid which was great," Goss said. "It seems like recently I've been starting poorly and playing catch-up for the rest of the round, which is hard. I had a decent two-under par front nine then the wind picked up for the back nine and I struggled on a couple of holes, but I managed to finish well to put me under-par for the round. Overall, I'm looking to build on it and play better tomorrow."

Senior Danny Keddie and freshman Jack Smith enter the final round tied for 43rd place. Keddie carded a second round 72 (+2) including three birdies. Smith followed up a first round 69 (-1) with a second round 76 (+6). The Knoxville native hit a rough patch on Saturday's front nine with four bogeys and a triple-bogey.

Senior Brandon Rodgers is tied for 57th place after posting a second round 75 (+5) and sophomore Chad Merzbacher is tied for 65th place after carding a 74 (+4).

On Sunday, Tennessee will look to generate some momentum before leaving the Sea Island Golf Club. The Vols have a final round tee time of 8:10 a.m. (ET).
