STOCKBRIDGE, Ga.-- Tennessee finished 11th at the Atlanta Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Eagles Landing Country Club just outside of Atlanta. The Vols fired a four-over-par 292 in Friday's final round, but was unable to make up much ground after a slow start in Thursday's first two rounds (300-304) that saw them start the day in 12th-place.

Freshman Ross McGowan, who shot a six-under 66 today, led the Vols finishing in a tie for 11th-place. McGowan had a scorecard of 77-72-66--215 to record his highest finish as a Vol. Senior Jimmy White finished with a 72-78-75--225 for a 34th-t place finish. The 10th-ranked Auburn Tigers won the tournament with a scorecard of 293-282-281--856 (8-under par). Fourth-ranked Florida finished second with a 292-289-280--861. No. 12 Georgia (864), North Florida (871) and Kentucky (879) rounded out the top five teams in the tournament.

The eighth-ranked Vols returns to action May 16-18 in the 2002 NCAA East Regional at Ansley Golf Course's Settin' Down Creek in Roswell, Ga. This year's postseason appearance marks the third consecutive year that UT has been selected to compete in an NCAA regional.
