It is the first college golf event of the spring season.
The 54-hole tournament will be contested at Arizona National Golf Club, a par 71, 6,900-yard course. Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday with continuous play scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Eastern time. The final 18 holes will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The field for this event includes Arizona, Brigham Young, California, UC-Irvine, ETSU, Georgia Southern, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, Texas, UCLA, UNLV, and Washington.
Charlie Ford will man the No.1 position for the Volunteers. Ford wrapped up the fall season with a co-medalist finish at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, Nov. 5-7. His 54-hole total of 200 was the lowest 54-hole total by an individual in school history.
Chris Paisley starts at the No. 2 position. The junior finished the fall season with a team-best 71.08 scoring average, six rounds of par-or-better and two top-10 finishes.
Robin Wingardh takes the No. 3 position. The UT freshman earned his best finish of his young career, a fifth-place finish at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, to finish out the fall season. His 54-hole total of 202 set a new career mark for Wingardh.
Knoxville native David Holmes occupies the No. 4 position. Holmes set a Turtle Bay course record with his final-round, 10-under-par 62. He finished the tournament tied for 10th place, his best finish as a Vol.
Philip Pettitt rounds out the Tennessee lineup in the No. 5 position. The senior had a scoring average of 71.83 and eight round of par-or-better at the end of the fall.
