Looking to build off momentum from their fall season, head coach Jim Kelson leads the Volunteers to Ponte Vedra, Fla., to compete in the SeaBest Invitational at the TPC Sawgrass Players Stadium Course. The two-day tournament kicks off Monday, Feb. 4 and is hosted by Jacksonville University.
The tournament will consist of five-man teams with the top four scores counting toward each round. Tennessee's starting five will be led by seniors Rick Lamb and Jay Vandeventer, followed by Thomas Dunne, Brandon Rodgers, and newcomer Oliver Goss.
"We are excited to get the spring season started," Kelson said. "The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass will be a great challenge for us and we look forward to playing it. We are also excited about the debut of Oliver (Goss)".
The Australian import Goss looks to make a big splash in his first collegiate event. "I'm ready to get out there and play," Goss said. "I've been on campus for about a month now. I've really enjoyed it all, but I'm ready for our spring season to start".
The TPC Sawgrass course is the home of THE PLAYERS Championship, birthplace of the TPC Network, and backdrop to the PGA Tour headquarters. It is a world-renowned course that is easily recognizable. THE PLAYERS Stadium Course is home to one of the most famous and challenging holes on the PGA Tour. The infamous 17th hole, features an island green that is well known by many professional golfers.
The SeaBest Invitational kicks off the spring season for many of the teams in the field. The 2013 field includes Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Florida Gulf Coast, Francis Marion, Georgia State, Jacksonville University (host), Jacksonville State, Old Dominion, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC Upstate, Winthrop, and Wofford College.

The first two rounds of the SeaBest Invitational will be played on Monday, Feb. 4 with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. ET, with the second round immediately following. The final round begins Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 8:30 a.m. ET.
