Serrano Earns PGA TOUR Canada Status
March 20, 2017

SANTEE, Calif. -- Tennessee men's golf senior Juan Carlos Serrano earned Mackenzie Tour - PGA TOUR Canada status for 2017 after tying for 12th at last week's USA West #1 Q-School at Carlton Oaks Country Club.

Serrano finished at even par with a 72-71-72-73--288. After 72 holes at last week's Q-School, every player inside the top 40 and ties earned Mackenzie Tour status for 2017. By finishing in the top 16, Serrano is exempt for the first four events of the season and subject to the first reshuffle.

Serrano, who was formerly the top-ranked junior player in Mexico, currently has a 73.44 round average this season for the Vols over six tournaments.

The Mackenzie Tour - PGA TOUR Canada begins its 2017 season with the Freedom 55 Financial Open from June 1-4 at Point Grey Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
