Brannen Named to 2008 SEC Service Team

Tennessee sophomore James Brannen has been named to the 2008 SEC Men???s Golf Community Service Team, announced today by the conference office in Birmingham, Ala.

A Clarksville native, Brannen has made many visits to the Love Kitchen, which is located in downtown Knoxville and provides meals, clothing and emergency good packages to homebound, homeless and unemployed persons. He has also volunteered at the Volunteer Ministry Center which is a non-profit, interfaith agency serving the poor and homeless in Knoxville.

Most recently, Brannen helped with a free golf clinic where the men???s golf team worked with local children on basic golf skills and improving their game.

Brannen has been named to the 2006 Thornton Center Honor Roll and the 2007 SEC Academic Honor Roll for excellence in the classroom. The sophomore is a biomedical sciences major.

The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
