The Tennessee men's golf team opens its 2010-11 schedule set to defend two fall tournament titles followed by a spring return to Southern California.

The Vols under head coach Jim Kelson also will be vying for their third consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship Finals, set this year for Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla.

UT again plays a combined four tournaments in September and October before taking the winter break. Last year, Tennessee won twice in the fall and jumped all the way to No. 1 nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings.

The Vols open play Sept. 10-12 as defending champion at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Rocky Face, Ga. Tennessee won there last year for the first time in school history with a tournament-record score that included Darren Renwick claiming medalist honors.

Tennessee then plays at the Windon Memorial outside Chicago for a second straight year Sept. 26-27 before returning to familiar ground at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in nearby Jonesborough. The Vols shared team championship honors with Oregon State at the 2009 BTI, rallying on the final hole. This year's event takes place Oct. 15-17.

UT closes its fall slate Oct. 24-26 with a trip to the Isleworth Intercollegiate in Orlando, Fla. Tennessee last played in this tournament in 2006.

The Vols are back in Southern Calfornia to open the spring portion of the schedule, playing Battle at the Beach for the second straight year in Newport Coast, Calif., on Feb. 13-15. After the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, which takes place from Feb. 27 through March 1 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Tennessee participates in the Gen. Jim Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on March 13-14.

A pair of Georgia trips for the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational (March 18-20) in Statesboro and the Administaff ASU Invitational (April 2-3) in Augusta close out the regular season.

The 2011 SEC Championship returns to Sea Island, Ga., on April 15-17. After that, NCAA regional competition takes place May 19-21 at six locations before the top 30 teams advance to the NCAA finals at the home course of Oklahoma State. The 2011 championships are set for May 31 through June 5.
