VFL David Skinns finishes T-12th on Web.com Tour

Over the past week, former Tennessee Volunteer men's golfers have been sinking birdies across the world.

Across the pond, four former Tennessee men's golfers and one future Volunteer took part in the British Open Qualifying tournaments.

In England, Ross McGowan and Charlie Ford competed at the Woburn and shot a 4-under par and 2-over par, respectively. McGowan finished in seventh place while Ford tied for 32nd position.

Chris Paisley, Garrick Porteous and Kristian Johannessen competed at the Gailes Links course in Scotland. Paisley finished tenth after carding 1-over par, Johannessen tied for 11th place after shooting 2-over par and Porteous was forced to withdraw from the qualifier after the first round.

The British Open Championship will start July 17 at Royal Liverpool.

PGA Web.com Tour

Last week, former Vols David Skinns and Philip Pettitt competed in the Nova Scotia Open in Halifax, Canada. The weekend tournament was held at the Ashburn Golf Club.

Skinns, one of UT's most decorated collegiate golfers, tied for 12th place after carding 5-under par for the tournament while Pettitt tied for 46th after shooting 2-over par.

The Utah Championship presented by Zions Bank in Sandy, Utah, is the next tournament on the Web.com Tour schedule.
