Last season, the Vol golfers shot a 282-292-280--854 on their way to a three-stroke victory over TCU. The win propelled Tennessee to its first ever No. 1 ranking by Golfweek and then freshman Phillip Pettitt was ranked the No. 1 player in the nation following his first tournament as a collegiate.
Tennessee is the highest ranked squad in this year's field. Tennessee, ranked No. 3 by Golfweek, is one of five teams ranked in Golfweek's top 25.
Sophomore Jonathan Mount mans the top spot for the Volunteers. The Kingston, Tenn., native won the Shoal Creek Invitational earlier this season and is currently ranked No. 11 in Golfweek's individual player rankings. Mount has shot par or better in all six of his rounds this season.
Ben Spickard starts in the second spot for the Vols. Spickard shot a final-round 69 at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate to finish in a tie-for-10th place.
Senior Lloyd Campbell is next for the Volunteers in the third spot. Campbell tied-for-top-honors at the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions. Campbell is ranked No. 39 in the Golfweek individual ratings.
Phillip Pettitt occupies the fourth spot for the Vols. The sophomore won The Ridges Intercollegiate last season and earlier this season finished in a tie with Campbell for the win at the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions. Pettitt is ranked No. 46 in the Golfweek ratings.
Freshman Chris Paisley rounds out the Tennessee lineup. Paisley shot a 66 in the third round of the Coca-Cola Tournament of Champions to finish in eighth place.
