Tennessee men's golfer Tino Weiss fired an even-par 72 Friday, to stand in a tie for 40th place after two rounds of the World Amateur Team Championships played in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Weiss, a member of the Swiss National Team, shot a 73 in the opening round on Thursday. The Bach, Switzerland native came back in the second round to fire four birdies en route to an even-par round. Weiss stands in 40th place with a score of one-over-par through two rounds. Only 26 players of the 208 entered are at even-par or better after two rounds. Switzerland is in a tie for 23rd place out of 70 teams.
Ross McGowan a former UT golfer (2001-05) is playing for his home country of England. McGowan also fired an even-par second round. The Cheam Surrey, England native is in a tie for 63rd place with a score of three-over-par. England is in 15th place.
