Garrick Porteous made the cut at a European Tour event for the first time this season. Over the weekend, the Englishman finished tied for 14th at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.
The former Volunteer and British Amateur champion totaled 283 (-5) after shooting rounds of 71-69-74-69.
Competing as an amateur, his two rounds of 69 (-3) impressed many at the Leopard Creek Country Club.
Porteous' second round 69 allowed him to make his first cut at a European Tour event.
The native of Morpeth, England fell behind after his third round 74. However, Porteous finished strong with a final round 69 that consisted of five birdies, four coming on the back nine.
The next European Tour event will be the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa on Thursday, December 5.
