Former Golfer Earns European Tour Card
Former Tennessee Volunteer Ross McGowan has been playing on the European Challenger Tour since turning pro in 2006.
Now he gets to play with the big boys.
After earning a number of top finishes which led him to a No. 2 ranking at the end of the 2007 season, McGowan has earned his European Tour Card.
And only two tournaments into his tour run he is making an impression with a tie for 15th place at the MasterCard Masters held at Huntingdale Golf Course in Melbourne, Australia, Nov. 22-25.
McGowan shot an impressive 6-under-par with a tournament scorecard of 74-71-68-69—282.
McGowan lettered at Tennessee from 2002-05. In 2005, he led the Volunteers to an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Championships; the team’s highest since 1981.
