The No. 11 Tennessee men's swimming and diving team was defeated Friday by the 13th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers 149.5-85.5 in Bloomington, Ind., at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

The lone bright spot came from junior Tyler Gustafson, who was the lone winner for the Vols. Gustafson won the 50-yard freestyle in 20.85 and the 100-yard freestyle in 45.48. Indiana followed with second in each event with Lee Houchin in the 50-free in 21.16 and Colin Russell in 45.97 in the 100-free.

"Tyler Gustafson swam hard and picked up some big wins," UT head coach John Trembley said. "Indiana swam very tough today. We are looking forward to some good training next week and good competition next weekend against LSU and Virginia."

Tennessee's 200-yard medley relay team of Josh Fulton, Kiel Huston, Andrew Engle and Brad Duryea finished second in 1:32.44 while setting a new top time for the season.

Junior Bryan Goldberg finished second in the 200-yard free in 1:40.40. Russell finished first for Indiana in 1:39.54.

Next up for the Vols is a home double-dual meet Jan. 15 against LSU and Virginia at the UT Student Aquatic Center.
