ATHENS, Ga.--The Tennessee men's swimming and diving team finished the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in fourth place with 369 points.
The Vols finished 100 points behind third-place Georgia while Auburn was crowned SEC champions with 1008 points.
"We are looking foward to the NCAA championships with a vengeance," UT head coach John Trembley said. "Overall it was a very good competition for us. Half of the team was unshaven and met every expectation we set for them. It was a great team effort." Senior Raymond Rosal turned in a time of 44.38 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle to finish seventh. Tyler Gustafson finished 12th in the event with a 45.08.
After finishing fourth in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes, senior Andrew Bree returned to finish 10th in the 200-yard individual medley. Bree touched the wall in 1:48.16.
The diving team will be competing next at the NCAA Zone B Qualifier March 12-14
in Athens, Ga. The NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be held March
25-27 in Long Island, N.Y.
