CollegeSwimming.com announced Tuesday its 2010 recruiting class rankings. Once again, Tennessee's class landed inside the top 10 with a seventh-place ranking.
"This recruiting class ranking represents a true team effort," head coach John Trembley said. "We had a mixture of our staff, some of our former Vols and friends of our program working to find some of the best student-athletes in the world to come to Tennessee.
"Coach Hendee did so much work to put this class together and deserves a lot of credit. We have a pretty solid group here that will really make it go time here in Knoxville."
Tennessee's freshmen class includes Zack Burnett (Sevierville), Drew Craig (Midland, Mich.), James Dail (Knoxville), Oystein Hetland (Jar, Norway), Clint Johnson (Loma Linda, Calif.), Norbert Kovacs (Budapest, Hungary), Ramom Melo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Renato Prono (Asuncion, Paraguay), Samuel Rairden (Richmond, Va.), Troy Tillman (Chattanooga) Christoffer Wallin (Helsingnorg, Sweden) and Alex Ward (Knoxville).
This is the second consecutive year UT's recruiting class ranked inside the top 10. The Vols' 2009 class led the SEC with a sixth-place rank.
Only one SEC program ranked higher than did the Big Orange. Auburn's class of 2010 came in second place while Georgia ranked 11th, Florida was 14th and Alabama was 25th.
