  • Played No. 3 and 4 in the singles lineup, much like he did as a junior. Played No. 2 doubles with Brandon Fickey the first half of the season and Andrew Dromsky down the stretch.
  • Opened the 2014 season winning all three singles matches against TTU, EKU and ETSU. Extended his career-long doubles winning streak to nine games with partner Brandon Fickey.
  • Clinched the deciding point for the Vols in their 4-0 win against VCU, 6-3, 6-4, to send UT to the ITA National Indoor Championships in Houston, Texas.
  • Defeated No. 95 Bruno Semenzato, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, to clinch the 4-2 win over Duke.
  • Clinched the matched-winning point against MSU's Jordan Angus, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the 4-3 victory
  • Paired up with Andrew Dromsky, his 11th different doubles partner at UT. The two went 7-1 down the stretch for the Vols, providing stability in the doubles lineup
  • Won his final two regular season home singles matches v. Tam Trinh (LSU, 6-2 6-2) and Jovan Parlic (Ark., 6-2, 6-1)
  • Helped the Vols past Duke in the second round of the NCAA championships, beating Raphael Hemmeler 6-3, 6-3 in a 4-2 road win


  • Opened fall season at the SEC Fall Classic, where he reached the consolation quarterfinals in singles. His two wins in the back draw came against Kentucky's Nils Ellefson and Arkansas' Jacob Herndon.
  • Lost in the opening round of qualifying at the ITA All-American Championships.
  • Reached singles quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, losing to teammate Mikelis Libietis. It was his best finish in a 64-player or larger draw. He went 3-1 in the tournament in singles.
  • Teamed up with Brandon Fickey to win the doubles title at the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational in Orlando, Fla., to close the fall season. They went 5-0 over the weekend, beating No. 51 Nemscek and Findel-Hawkins of North Florida 8-7 (4) in the final.

  • Primarily played No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles with Mikelis Libietis to start junior year, but later moved to No. 4 singles and No. 2/3 doubles with Brandon Fickey. He finished with career bests in singles (21) and doubles (26) wins.
  • Started off the Vols' 7-match season-opening home stand going 3-0 in singles and 5-0 in doubles
  • Upped career best singles winning streak to four matches with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Tim Kopinski in the Vols' second 4-0 win at Illinois
  • After the ITA National Indoors, has moved down to the No. 4 position in the lineup and picked up wins as Vols beat Mississippi State and South Carolina
  • After a loss to Florida during SEC play, he won a pair of matches the next weekend against Kentucky and Vanderbilt, resulting in two more conference team wins for the Vols
  • Ended with the second-most SEC singles wins on the team with seven between the 3 and 4 positions, ending the conference season on a three-match winning streak against Arkansas, LSU and Alabama

  • Played doubles with Taylor Patrick over the final weekend of the regular season and the SEC Tournament, compiling a 3-2 record with the senior

  • Kicked off the fall season by capturing the doubles title at the Baylor HEB Intercollegiate with Edward Jones, beating Baylor's Krickovic and Verzaal 8-6 in the championship match. Also reached the third round in singles at Baylor
  • Reached the final round qualifying in singles at the All-American Championships and made the quarterfinals in doubles with Mikelis Libietis, knocking off the eighth-ranked team of Camillone and Holiner of Texas
  • Won a pair of matches in singles and doubles at the Tennessee Fall Invitational before injuring his ankle
  • Reached second round of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, losing to eventual champion Ryan Lipman.

  • In his first season in the lineup full time, Chaplin started season primarily at No. 4 singles and played a majority of matches at No. 2 doubles with Edward Jones
  • Started doubles season out on a five-match winning streak at No. 3 with Peter Nagovnak
  • Went on a three-match winning streak in singles and was instrumental in the Vols' 4-3 victory over Ole Miss to earn a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. He and Nagovnak clinched the doubles point on court 3 and Chaplin was the first off in singles with a 6-3, 6-4 win over January enrollee William Kallberg
  • Won two of three matches at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic
  • Clinched the Vols' 5-2 victory over South Carolina on the road, winning against Chip Cox in three sets
  • Earned first ranked win of his career, beating No. 37 Louis Cant of Mississippi State 6-4, 6-3 in a 4-3 team loss at home
  • Played the deciding match against LSU, beating Stefan Szacinski 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the 4-3 win
  • Lost four games in a row in the final set, but held on for a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 win against Dennis Lengsfeld to clinch the 5-2 win against Auburn
  • Teamed up with Jones to go 6-1 in the SEC on court 2 ... Went 1-1 in both singles and doubles at the SEC Championships
  • Ranked in doubles for the first time at No. 73 with Jones. The two went 9-2 together


  • Finished an even 6-6 in singles during the fall, though he won three of his final four matches
  • Started the year by reaching the quarterfinals in the top flight of the Tennessee Fall Invitational, losing to teammate Brandon Fickey 6-4, 6-4
  • Won a match in prequalifying at the ITA All-American Championships
  • Advanced to the consolation semifinals of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships
  • Completed the season with a 4-3 doubles record

  • Arrived just in time for the spring season, joining the team in Hawaii in January for the Rainbow Warrior Challenge
  • Became the "seventh starter" in the Vols' singles lineup, finding his way into the top six for seven dual matches
  • Also played in seven dual matches in doubles, mostly at the No. 2 position with Rhyne Williams and John-Patrick Smith
  • Finished 8-8 in singles and 7-4 in doubles
  • Cracked the lineup for the first time at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships because of illness, and defeated Luke Marchese 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 to propel the Vols to a 4-3 over Duke in the semifinals
  • Also stepped into the No. 5 position to collect a key three-setter over Blake Bazarnik to help the Vols in a 4-3 win at Vanderbilt.
