2010-11 (Senior)
Became the second player in the history of college tennis to be named a four-time All-America in both singles and doubles, joining just Rick Leach of Southern California (1984-87) ... Ended final year with a career-best 42 singles wins and ranks second in UT history with 152 wins. He became the UT leader with 146 doubles wins and compiled more combined wins than any Vol before: 296 ... Teamed up with fellow senior Boris Conkic in his fourth year atop the doubles lineup, finishing 27-4 together and holding the No. 1 ranking from March 1 through the end of the season ... By finishing atop the rankings, he and Conkic were named the ITA Doubles Team of the Year, the second time Smith has earned that honor ... Became the first Vol and just the second player ever to be named SEC Player of the Year for a second time after going 9-1 in singles and 9-2 in doubles. Only top-20 touring pro John Isner had accomplished that feat, doing so at Georgia in 2006 and 2007 ... Became one of six Vols to be named All-SEC all four years of a career. Conkic also joined that very select company ... Named SEC Player of the Week twice, which upped his career total to eight such awards ... Cruised to 3-0 double record with Conkic at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, being named to the all-tournament team for the performance ... Reached the doubles finals of the SEC Coaches Indoor Championships with Conkic ... After a slow 5-3 start to the season, he won five matches on his way to the final of the USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships ... Finished with a career-best 41-9 record in singles and 46-9 in doubles, ending the year No. 2 in singles and No. 3 in doubles nationally ... Earned ITA All-America honors in singles and doubles for the third time ... Returned to the NCAA doubles championship with Davey Sandgren, losing in the finals to Virginia in three sets for the second year ... Enjoyed his best season in conference play, going 9-1 in the SEC in singles and earning SEC Player of the Year honors ... Named SEC Player of the Week four times, easily pacing the league in that category ... Became the first Vol since Chris Woodruff in 1993 to reach the No. 1 singles ranking, a position Smith held for much of April and May ... Smith and Sandgren finished with 41 victories over the season to break the 1986 school record for doubles wins in a season ... Smith and Rhyne Williams both finished with 41 singles victories, marking just the second time in UT history that teammates have put together 40-plus wins in the same season (last time was 1987) ... Became only the third player in history and the first since 1998 to win the singles and doubles titles at the ITA All-American Championships ... Won the doubles with Boris Conkic -- the two of them ended the season ranked No. 20 by the ITA ... Won singles and doubles at the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational, taking doubles with Sandgren ... Made it to the semifinals of the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships ... Enjoyed a 12-match winning streak in both singles and doubles, both career highs.

Entered the World University Games tennis tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, as a 14th seed ... Reached the fourth round before falling to fourth seed Aleksander Slovic 6-4, 6-2.

2008-09 (Sophomore)
ITA All-America in singles and doubles, only one of eight players to receive honors in both ... First-team All-SEC for the second time ... Played from the No. 1 position in singles and finished 34-10 ... Ended the year ranked third in the ITA rankings ...Reached the third round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships in singles as a sixth seed ... Competed against a ranked opponent almost every outing, finishing 22-10 against them ... Collected two victories against top-10 opponents, including a victory over No. 1 Bryan Koniecko of Ohio State in straight sets ... Set a new career best with eight consecutive victories in singles, stretching from Jan. 17 until Feb. 1 ... Finished 34-13 in doubles play, with 32 of those victories coming with teammate Davey Sandgren, good for third-most in a season in school history ... Ranked No. 1 nationally in the final ITA doubles ranking ... Continued to climb the record book with Sandgren. They have 39 victories as doubles partners, which is sixth-most in a career at UT ... First time after advancing to the semifinals of the SEC Coaches Indoor Tournament by defeating three-higher ranked opponents including eighth-ranked Greg Ouellette of Florida in straight-sets ... Second time after winning both matches at No. 2 position in 4-3 wins over Clemson and Illinois ... Against Illinois defeated 15th-ranked Ryan Rowe ... Overall, went 17-9 against ranked opponents ...
