Tennessee Head Coach Chris Mahony
"That was a heck of a match; that was about a six hour match, so it's going to go down as one of the longest college tennis matches in history. (Even with going) outdoors then indoors, it was an unbelievable effort by the boys."
"There is not a whole lot you can do about (having to move indoors). Typically, this year it's no secret that we've had better results outdoors. We played South Carolina earlier in the year indoors and they whipped up on us pretty good, 6-1. I thought that might have turned the tide in their favor a little bit, but we came out and got two matches off quickly once we got indoors and the guys adjusted well."
"(Ole Miss) is a great team, and they are the No. 1 seed. They beat us at our place; they came into Knoxville earlier in the year and got us. We're going to have to step up, but we've got no pressure and we'll just come out swinging."
Tennessee sophomore Kiril Tcherveniachki (No. 5 singles, clincher)
"I lost the first set, and I knew that I had beaten him (earlier in the season), so I knew that I could always win. The first set, there was a rain delay so I got off to a bad start when we went back on the court. Then, in the second set I just started playing better and the coaches just said to do whatever I could to win, and I played pretty well."
"At the beginning (after moving indoors), I was pretty rusty, but as the match went on I got more and more confident, so I stepped it up."
"I'm feeling quite confident now. I've got two matches under my belt, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. It will be a tough match, but I hope to get another win."
South Carolina Head Coach Kent DeMars
"We had beaten Tennessee earlier in the season but it was a tough match and that's just the way they are in the SEC. They played a little better than we did today, and it was really a close match and Tennesee came through. It's typical in SEC matches; we play them all the time. One day you have a little bit of an edge and the next day they have one. I was disappointed in a couple of our spots I thought we would possibly win at, and they played really well so I have to give them credit."
