  • The Vols are making their first appearance in the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic since winning the tournament in 2009. Tournament MVP John-Patrick Smith led the way that year with four wins atop the Tennessee lineup as the Vols beat Alabama 4-2 in the title match. Bryan Swartz is the only current Vol to have played in that tournament, appearing at No. 3 doubles.
  • This weekend marks the Vols' first outdoor match of the year. Tennessee (4-6) is looking to snap a five-match losing streak after going 0-3 at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships last week.
  • In their meeting last season at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, the Vols beat Clemson 7-0, highlighted by Matteo Fago's 6-0, 6-0 victory on court 4.
  • Freshman Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese continued to anchor the doubles lineup last weekend at the National Indoors, improving their record to 7-2 in dual matches at the No. 1 position. They are currently ranked No. 44 nationally.
