SEC SWING THROUGH MISSISSIPPI
  • The Vols (13-4, 0-1) head into a crucial road weekend against No. 11 Mississippi State and No. 8 Ole Miss on Friday and Sunday. Both Mississippi teams are 2-0 to open the conference season with road wins against Auburn and Alabama. This is the final road weekend for the Vols to wrap up what has been a two-month road journey away from their home courts.
  • Mississippi State defeated the Vols twice last season, 4-3 in Knoxville for the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic title and 5-2 in Starkville in the quarterfinals of the SEC Championships.
  • This weekend, the Vols feature the doubles lineup they debuted against Georgia Tech on Sunday, with Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese back at the No. 1 position, where they played all of last season (23-12, 7-4 SEC).
  • Libietis is back leading the Vols at the top of the lineup with a 26-4 record this season. Ranked 13th nationally, the sophomore Vol is closing in on his 50th career victory. He enters the weekend with 46.
