With three consecutive victories, the Tennessee Volunteers hopped up eight positions to 16th nationally in the ITA team rankings Tuesday.

The Vols (11-9, 3-3 SEC) evened their conference record over the weekend with a 4-3 win at home against LSU and a 5-2 road victory against Arkansas to move up from 24th in the country.

The SEC now boasts seven of the top 16 teams in the country.

Individually, freshman Mikelis Libietis moved up to No. 42 in singles, up from 51st. Doubles partner and fellow freshman Hunter Reese returned to the singles rankings at a career-best No. 92.

Libietis, playing at No. 1 in both lineups for the Vols as a newcomer, is 17-9 overall and 3-3 in the SEC. Reese has benefitted in the rankings by moving up to the No. 2 position. He is 14-11 this season and 2-1 since the last ranking period to move back into the top 125 at No. 92.

In doubles, Libietis and Reese remained in the top 10 but dropped one spot to eighth. The freshman pair had their nine-match winning streak snapped Sunday at Arkansas. They are 20-5 this season, including 5-1 in the SEC.
