With a combined 4-0 effort against LSU and Arkansas, Tennessee junior Mikelis Libietis was named the co-SEC Player of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Libietis won a pair of straight-set matches at No. 2 singles to help the 21st-ranked Vols (15-9, 4-6 SEC) defeat LSU 4-1 and Arkansas 4-0 in the final home weekend of the regular season.
In doubles, Libietis and Hunter Reese further improved their league-leading efforts at the top of the lineup. The top-ranked doubles team in the country beat No. 70 Tam Trinh and Eric Perez of LSU and No. 37 Manfred Jeske and Mike Nott of Arkansas.
This season, Libietis and Reese have a 29-3 record together, including 8-0 in SEC play. They will try to secure their second 10-0 SEC season at No. 1 doubles this weekend as the Vols travel to Auburn on Friday and Alabama on Sunday.
Libietis has earned SEC Player of the Week honors twice this season and three times in his career. He shared this week's award with Garrett Brasseaux of Georgia and Jordan Szabo of Texas A&M.
