The sixth-ranked Tennessee men's tennis team received a bye through the first round of the SEC Tournament for the second consecutive season and begin play Friday against the winner of Arkansas and Kentucky at 4 p.m. ET at Auburn's Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Tennessee (19-5, 8-3 SEC) is the third seed in the tournament. The Vols defeated Arkansas but lost twice to Kentucky during the regular season.

The Vols have been this season by the sophomore trio of Boris Conkic, Matteo Fago and John-Patrick Smith. The three netters went a combined 23-6 in SEC conference play and 50-9 overall in dual-match play.

Last season in the SEC Tournament the Vols advanced to the semifinals before falling to eventual tournament champion Ole Miss.

The tournament runs Thursday through Sunday. The NCAA selection show announcing the 64-team field is Tuesday night at 5:20 p.m. ET on ESPNews.
