Libietis, Reese Named to ITA All-Star Team

Tennessee seniors Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese were named to the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team for the second consecutive season, the collegiate tennis governing body announced Tuesday.

Libietis and Reese qualified for 2014 team by winning the NCAA doubles title and ending their junior years at No. 1 in the rankings.

The all-star team includes three singles and three doubles teams for NCAA Division I and the top singles players from the other collegiate divisions for men and women. Reese and Libietis were on the team as sophomores in 2013 after holding the No. 3 doubles ranking.

Libietis and Reese have played at the top of the Vols' doubles lineup and enjoyed their best season yet as juniors. They finished the year 36-5, including 13-1 in the major individual championships. In addition to winning Tennessee's second NCAA doubles championship, they won the ITA All-American Championships and reached the finals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.

John-Patrick Smith was the last Vol to be named to the ITA Collegiate All-Star Team multiple times after earning the No. 1 end-year doubles ranking with Davey Sandgren in 2009 and Boris Conkic in 2011.
