The Tennessee men's tennis team traveled to Las Vegas, Nev., for the second straight season Thursday to compete in the UNLV Fall Classic, its final tournament of the fall.
Senior David Baxendine has had the best fall of any Volunteer. The England native captured the Flight "B" singles title at the Georgia Tech Fall Intercollegiate. Baxendine had a team-high seven-match win streak this fall.
Bobby Cameron, Kaden Hensel, Ben Rogers and Kiril Tcherveniachki all have impressive wins this fall. Rogers and Tcherveniachki have both advanced as far as the quarterfinals in tournaments. Hensel has been the Vols most prolific doubles player racking up five wins with two different partners. Hensel and Rogers upset the No. 29 ranked doubles team of Terence Nugent and Alex Schweizer from Auburn on its way to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Championships.
Tennessee joins tournament host UNLV as well as Illinois, Oklahoma, Alabama, Fresno State and East Tennessee State in the tournament featuring two 16-spot flights of singles and one 16-team doubles draw, the tournament will have four rounds of each, plus singles consolation play.
