Pole Vault

2001-Outdoor- Vaulted to his season-best clearance of 16-4 before rain canceled the event at the Georgia Tech Invitational (May 19)...Slipped into the scoring column with a tie for eighth at the SEC Outdoors courtesy of a 15-9 1/4 clearance in Columbia, S.C. ...Earned bronze at the Gatorade Track Classic in Knoxville with a 15-9 jump.

Indoor- Scraped the sky with a 16-9 1/2 personal best to earn third (behind Lawrence Johnson and Tim Mack) in the invitational section of the pole vault at the Tennessee Indoor Invitational...Became the only Vol vaulter in 2001 to score at both the SEC Indoor and Outdoor Championships...At the SEC Indoors, Binder took seventh with a 16-8 3/4 leap...Took fifth with 16-4 3/4 clearance at Pepsi Valentine's Invitational at Virginia Tech.

2000-Outdoor- Finished the outdoor season as the second-highest vaulter on the Tennessee roster at 16-7 1/4...Cleared his season-best height of 16-7 1/4 at the Sea Ray Relays (April 15) to take seventh place...Earned eighth at the Florida Relays by clearing 16-5...Contributed points to the Tennessee effort with third-place, 16-0 3/4 effort at the SEC Quad...Stood 10th after vaulting 16-4 3/4 at the National Invitational Team Championships in Austin, Texas...Placed 14th after clearing 16-2 3/4 at the SEC Championships...Jumped 16-5 1/2 to garner seventh-place honors at the Gatorade Twilight Meet in Knoxville.

Indoor- Cleared best height of the indoor season, 16-5 1/2, to take fourth at the Kroger Invitational (Feb. 12)...Finished sixth by clearing 15-7 to open the season at the Virginia Tech Invitational...Contributed valuable points with his second-place, 16-4 vault at the SEC Quad...Vaulted to fifth by clearing 16-0 1/2 at the UT All-Comers Meet...No-heighted at the SEC Indoor Championships.

1999- Cleared best height of his career at the Kroger Invitational (Feb. 13) at Virginia Tech with a 16-8 3/4 in the pole vault to take seventh...Took fifth with a 16-2 3/4 at the SEC Indoor Championships...Placed fourth after clearing 15-11 at the Tennessee/Indiana/Ohio State three-way meet...In the outdoor season, Binder finished second at the Tennessee/Georgia/Kentucky three-way meet by clearing 16-0 3/4...Claimed fourth at the Knoxville Invitational after vaulting 16-4 3/4...Took fourth with height of 15-5 at Miami Invitational...Posted a 15-3 at the SEC Outdoor Championships to land in 11th place.

1998- Redshirted...Ranked 40th in World Junior Rankings with 16-2 pole vault best.

HIGH SCHOOL- Career-best mark was a 15-0 leap in the pole vault...Ran a personal-best time of 2:03 in the 800M...Won All-State honors for outdoor track his junior and senior years...Garnered All-State for his marks during his senior indoor season...Won district and regional championships...Finished sixth in the high school pole vault at the Penn Relays.
