performance ... At the SECs, Greer achieved his high-water mark for the outdoor
season, winning the 110m hurdles and 4x100m relay conference crowns ... Won the
SEC 110m hurdles title with a lifetime-best time of 13.32 (May 18), the fastest
time by a collegian in 2003 and the second-fastest time in school history behind
Willie Gault's 13.26 ... Led off Tennessee's third-consecutive SEC
4x100m relay champion in fine form, getting the Vols out of the hole in a hurry
and on the way to a 38.92 finish ... After a 13.86, seventh-place prelim qualifier,
Greer hit a patch of tough luck when, in the lead, he lost his balance for the
first time in his career and nearly fell clearing the sixth of the 10 high hurdles
in the NCAA semifinals .. Still finished the race to finish the NCAA semifinal
18th in 15.17 to miss the cut for the finals ... Shook off his hurdles misfortune
to lead off the Vols' runner-up 4x100m relay team, steaming to a season-best
38.72 finish--the second-fastest quartet in school history (June 13) ... The 4x100m
relay, 38.72 effort marked the third-consecutive top-three finish for Tennessee
in the event and the fastest time the Vols have ever run in the NCAA finals ...
Finished 24th in 13.94 in the 110m hurdles prelims at the USA Outdoor Championships
... Took fifth to lock up his NCAA spot at the Mideast Regional with a 13.69w,
fifth-place time in the finals and led off the Vols to a third-place, 40.37 NCAA
qualifier in the 4x100m relay ... In the 110m hurdles prelims at the Mideast Regional,
Greer's 13.54 set the Jesse Owens Stadium record ... Captured the acclaimed
Tony Wilson Award as the most outstanding track performer at the Sea Ray Relays
... Improved his lifetime-best 110m hurdles time again with a 13.67 winner at
the Sea Rays ... Even more impressively, on the shuttle hurdle relay anchor leg,
Greer made up what seemed to be an impossible 10-meter deficit to nip the Gamecocks
at the wire and claim the Volunteer victory in 55.17 at the Sea Ray Relays ...
Stayed on a roll as he opened his outdoor season with a 13.71, then-PR, runner-up
finish in the 110m hurdles and anchored Tennessee's second-place, 55.53
effort in the shuttle hurdle relay at the Florida Relays ... Led off the Vols'
winning 4x100m relay, 39.56, and took fifth in the 110m hurdles in 14.04 to preserve
a one-point Tennessee victory at the SEC Triangular at South Carolina ... Anchored
the Vols to third in 55.20 in the shuttle hurdle relay and finished 12th with
a 14.03 prelim time in the 110m hurdles at the Penn Relays.
2003-Indoor- Chiseled his name into the list
of Volunteer greats with a championship, school-record 60m hurdles time of 7.55
at the NCAA Indoors at Arkansas (March 14) ... On his way to the title in his
first season competing on the indoor track, Greer topped the legendary Willie
Gault's school record of 7.67, an untouchable standard for 20 years, twice
in the same day with his heat-winning 7.63 in the prelims and 7.55 in the finals
... In so doing, Greer's 7.55 falls just three-hundredths of a second
off the NCAA Indoor meet record ... Earning his reputation as a gamer, Greer
saved his first win of the indoor season for the SEC Indoors at Florida (March
2), where he took the 55m hurdles title in a lifetime-best 7.13, the fourth-fastest
time in school history ... Registered his lifetime-best 55m dash time of 6.40,
earning third at the Tennessee All-Comers Meet (Jan. 9) just a little more than
a week after playing in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl ... Clocked a 7.83 in the
60m hurdles prelims before finishing the finals fifth with a 7.89 in addition
to posting his season-best 60m dash time of 6.89 in the prelims at Virginia
Tech's Kroger Invitational (Jan. 17) ... Crossed the 55m hurdles finish
line fourth with a 7.23 NCAA automatic qualifier at the Gator Invitational ...
Took third in the 60m hurdles with a 7.99 offering at the Armory Invitational
... Showed his versatility with a fourth-place, 23-6.25 effort to help the Vols
win the SEC East Challenge. 2002-Outdoor- Won Herb Neff Award, given to
a walk-on who makes a valuable contribution to the squad, at team banquet ...
Pieced together a successful first season back on the track ... Nearly missed
All-America honors in his rookie track campaign by taking 10th in the 110m hurdles
semifinals with a time of 13.89 at the NCAA Outdoors ... Chalked up his lifetime-best
13.78 provisional time in claiming the 110m hurdles title at the Commodore Invitational
(April 20) in Nashville ... Got on the scoreboard while helping Tennessee take
the SEC Outdoor title with a fifth-t-place, 13.80 provisional effort in the
110m hurdles and eighth-place, 24-3.5w measurement in the long jump ... Took
eighth with a time of 14.11 in the 110m hurdles at the Penn Relays ... Led off
the United States' fastest shuttle hurdle relay in 2002, a torrid 55.65
Tennessee winner at the Penn Relays (April 26) ... Took fourth in 13.95 to lead
the Vols in the 110m hurdles and posted a lifetime-best mark of 25-2.5 to take
third in the long jump at the Sea Ray Relays (April 13) ... Helped Tennessee
defend its 32-year home winning streak with a runner-up, 23-10.25 leap in the
long jump and a seventh-place, 10.74 effort in the 100m dash at the Gatorade
Classic ... Clocked in at 10.82 to take third in the 100m dash and leapt 24-3.5
to take second in the long jump to preserve the team win at the Cal Invitational
... Won the long jump with a 24-8.25w mark to open the outdoor season at USC's
Trojan Classic. 2002-Indoor- Squad member. HIGH SCHOOL- The talented hurdler and jumper
won four 2000 Tennessee state titles his senior year and seven titles overall
during his last three years of high school ... 2000 State champion in the 110m
hurdles in 14.31, while also winning in 1999 and taking third in 1998 ... Completed
the 2000 state hurdles sweep by winning the 300m hurdles in 37.59, while also
winning the event in 1999 and 1998 ... Took top honors at the state meet in
the long jump (22-5.25) and the high jump (6-4) ... Owns high school personal
bests of 13.71 in the 110m hurdles, 6-8 in the high jump and 23-0 in the long
jump. FOOTBALL- Patrols the defensive backfield as
cornerback for the Vols ... Broke Tennessee record for games played with 51
... Talented playmaker in the secondary started 34 games during his Volunteer
career ... Finished his Tennessee career with 147 tackles, 34 passes broken
up, 11.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, one forced fumble and
one recovered fumble ... Saved the game against Alabama in 2003 by picking off
Brodie Croyle's two-point conversion pass attempt in the third overtime,
thus keeping Tennessee's hopes alive by forcing another overtime period
... Opposing quarterbacks rarely tested Greer's coverage skills ... Registered
his personal-best total of seven tackles in the 2003 Duke game ... Had five
tackles and a PBU during the Vols' improbable win at Miami, including
a tackle which stopped a breakaway run and forced a field goal in the 10-6 Volunteer
win ... Notched six tackles against Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, including
UT's only sack of the day ... Led Tennessee in 2002 with 14 passes broken
up and second with 16 defensive Big Plays ... Thwarted a South Carolina drive
for the tying score by snagging an interception with just a little more than
two minutes left on the clock, allowing the offense to run out the clock to
preserve the win ... Snagged an interception and broke up three other passes
to propel the Vols to victory against Florida in 2001 ... Made big impression
in his starting debut against Kentucky in 2000, registering six tackles, one
