2012: Honors - Named to SEC All-Freshman Team (60m)...SEC Indoor Co-Freshman of the Week (Feb. 14)...Indoors - Came into the SEC Indoor meet ranked 10th in the 60m dash and walked away with a fifth-place performance...Did so by matching his PR of 6.72 in the final and was the race's top freshman finisher...Named to the SEC All-Freshman Team for that achievement...Ran a career-best 21.58 in the SEC 200m prelims but did not advance...Knocked out a personal-best time of 6.72 to claim victory in the Gold Division 60m dash at the Akron Invitational...That first career triumph helped him earn SEC Co-Freshman of the Week accolades on Feb. 14...Made his UT debut at the Kentucky Invitational, finishing third in the 60m dash in 6.78...Ran 22.33 at the Auburn Invitational for his first career indoor 200m clocking...Lowered his 200m PR to 22.14 at the Texas A&M Mondo Challenge...Came home from the New Balance Collegiate Invitational with new indoor bests in the 60 and 200 meters...Finished fifth in the consolation final in 6.74 after running 6.75 in the prelims...Carded a 22.01 readout in the college 200 prelims...Outdoors - Contributed to the sixth-place finish and 40.47 readout by the 4x100m relay team at the SEC Outdoor Championships...Ran a wind-aided 10.43 in the 100m prelims and went 21.76 in the 200m prelims...Won the 100m dash (10.53) and nearly claimed the 200m (second in a career-best 21.25) at the UCLA/Washington State Double Dual...Also handled the second leg on UT's runner-up 4x100m relay (40.09)...Turned in a wind-aided 21.04 in the 200m to place fourth at the SEC/Big Ten Challenge...Also manned the second leg of UT's runner-up 4x100m relay (40.13)...Was the top collegiate finisher, but placed third overall, in the 100m dash with a season-best 10.40 readout at the Tennessee Challenge...Won the Showcase 100m dash at the Sea Ray Relays in a wind-aided 10.24, was third in the Showcase 200m (21.39) and ran on UT's third-place 4x400m relay (3:10.97)...Ran second 200m leg for UT on the sprint medley relay team (3:21.41) that finished second at the Penn Relays.

HIGH SCHOOL: James, a product of Queen's Royal College in Trinidad & Tobago, owns outdoor prep career-best times of 10.38 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 21.27 in the 200 meters...He earned a bronze medal in the 4x100m relay at the 2010 World Junior Championships and was a member of Trinidad & Tobago's fifth-place medley relay at the 2009 World Youth Championships...In addition to his 10.38 readout, James had four other 100m marks in the 10.4 range in 2011...One was a 10.44 readout in the prelims of the Pan Am Junior Championships, where he ended up placing seventh in the final at 10.57.

PERSONAL: Born July 16, 1992, in Trinidad & Tobago...Enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences...He joins countrywoman Annie Alexander in the Tennessee program.
