Led the Vols with a lifetime-best 1,000 time of 2:39.67 to cap his SEC indoor heptathlon on a strong note ... Began his multievent season at the Clemson heptathlon but no-heighted in the pole vault to push him to an 11th-place, 4,278-point finish ... Placed ninth at the SEC decathlon with 6,847 points ... Contributed his lifetime-best high jump (6-6), discus mark (117-6), pole vault clearance (12-9 1/2) and javelin throw (125-7), as well as his season-best long jump (22-4 1/4) at the SEC decathlon ... Opened his season with a lifetime-best, 6,897 score in the College Station decathlon (March 21-22) ... Set season-bests of 10.87w in the 100, 49.07 in the 400 and 41-2 1/2 in the shot put at the College Station decathlon ... Versatile athlete who finished with the fourth-best mark on the squad or better in six events in the 2003 indoor season -- 400 (50.52, fourth), 1,000 (2:42.02, third), high jump (6-6, fourth), long jump (22-7, fourth), triple jump (42-3 1/4, second) and pentathlon (3,728, third) ... Reached his high-water mark of the season with a seventh-place, 3,728-point effort at the SEC indoors (Feb. 28) ... Peaked to set season bests of 2:42.02 in the 1,000, second on the team and in the SEC competition, and 6-7 in the high jump, the fourth-best height for a Vol on the season ... Earned sixth with a 3,585-point performance in Virginia Tech's Kroger Invitational pentathlon ... Helped Tennessee nab the team win in the SEC East Challenge with a sixth-place, 22-3 3/4 effort in the long jump and seventh-place, 42-3 1/4 effort in the triple jump, the second-best mark on the team in the indoor season ... Ran a season-best 50.52 in the 400 and took fifth in the long jump with a 21-8 3/4 measurement at Kentucky's McCravy Memorial (Feb. 8) ... 2002 Outdoor: Notched his lifetime-best decathlon score of 6,719 to earn sixth at the Sea Ray Relays (April 11) ... Posted decathlon PRs in the 100 (11.08) and 400 (48.70) ... Helped Tennessee defend its SEC outdoor title by contributing points with a sixth-place, 6,616-point performance in the decathlon ... At the SEC meet, Yeager posted decathlon PRs in the pole vault (12-4) and 1,500m run (4:32.00) ... Went through a full day at the Knoxville Invitational after competing in the high jump (6-2), shot put (38-6) and discus (113-5) ... Helped Tennessee defend its 32-year home winning streak with a season-best, 45-10 3/4 mark, the second-best mark by a Vol all season, to take third in the triple jump at the Gatorade Classic ... Was a part of Tennessee's winning effort at the Cal Invitational with a 22-7 1/4 measurement in the long jump.
2002 Indoor: Took runner-up honors with a lifetime-best 3,808 points, just 53 points off Tennessee's freshman record, in the Kroger Invitational pentathlon (Jan. 19) ... Capped the Kroger pentathlon with a 2:43.46 winner in the 1,000 and chalked up a 22-11 3/4 mark in the long jump, the second-longest by a Vol in the indoor season ... Tuned up for the Kroger pentathlon with a full day at the Kentucky Invitational, competing in the 800 (a PR 2:02.84), 60 hurdles (8.70), long jump (22-10 1/2) and shot put (39-7 3/4) ... Helped the Vols to a team title at the SEC Eastern Division Challenge title with a sixth-place, 21-8 effort in the long jump ... Finished sixth in the shot put with a 39-8 3/4 measurement to open the season at the Tennessee Indoor Classic ... Missed out on the SEC Indoor pentathlon because of injury.
