The Tennessee men's track and field team hosts the Smoky Mountain Twilight at Tom Black Track on Tuesday. The meet is the Vols' last before the postseason begins with the SEC Championships on May 14-17.
"We try and hold this meet a week to 10 days before the conference meet every season to give our guys one last chance to tune up for the postseason," Tennessee head coach Bill Webb said. "We will have a good number of our guys in their primary events and a few guys competing in off events for training purposes. We should see some high level competition in several areas, so it should be a beneficial meet for us."
Tennessee has 32 athletes entered to compete led by standouts Joseph Berry in the pole vault, Joseph Franklin in the 800m, Akeem Hardnett in the triple jump and Nick Panezich in the shot put, discus and hammer.
Entering the final week of regular-season competition, Tennessee has 19 NCAA regional-qualifying marks from 13 different athletes and two relay units. All 13 qualifiers and both relays will be in action Tuesday evening.
The meet begins at 4:30 p.m. ET with the hammer throw. Running events start at 7:30 with the 4x100m relay.
Live results will be available at UTsports.com throughout the meet. Admission to Tom Black Track is free.
