Danielle Donehew begins her sixth year with the Lady Vols in the position of Director of Basketball Operations.
Danielle joined the staff in 2001, serving as a graduate assistant for the Lady Vols and her major focus was assisting former Lady Vol Associate Head Coach Mickie DeMoss with recruiting. During this period, Danielle earned her master's of science in sport administration at the University of Tennessee.
In her second year, Danielle was offered the Director of Basketball Operations position with the challenge of increasing efficiency, in addition to taking more operational and logistical tasks off the coaching staff. The goal was to allocate the operational details to Danielle and provide the coaching staff with more time to coach and recruit.
A native of Alpharetta, Georgia, Danielle is a cum laude graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned her bachelor's degree in industrial and systems engineering in May of 2001. For her basketball career at Tech, she is recognized as the most prolific three-point shooter in Yellow Jacket history. She still holds a number of Georgia Tech three-point shooting records and finished her career as third all-time in the Atlantic Coast Conference for three-point field goals made. Danielle was the captain of her team during her senior year and involved with Athletes In Action. Her awards include Georgia Tech's NCAA Woman of the Year Representative, Academic All-American, GT Total Person Spotlight Award, Georgia Tech Robert Cup Winner, GT Basketball Iron Athlete Award, Homer Rice Award Scholarship, and an ACC Post Graduate Scholarship.
Off the court, Danielle was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, awarded the 1999 Georgia Tech Homecoming Queen, and served on the Georgia Tech Student Athlete Advisory Board, where she held executive positions of President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. During her final year, she was given the honor of serving on the ACC Student Athlete Advisory Board. She spent her fifth year as a student-assistant coach for the Yellow Jacket women's basketball program and studied abroad in Europe.
Danielle enjoys golfing, traveling, playing the guitar, and airplane aviation.
