The Lady Vols used a 20-2 run to take a commanding 31-7 lead with 8:03 left before halftime. Stricklen sparked the run with her second three at the 15:10 mark in the first half. Johnson capped the spurt with a putback.

Ole Miss cut the Lady Vols' lead to 16 points early in the second half after Shae Nelson hit a three and McFarland made double-pump layup to make the score 45-29 with 17:53 left in the game. Tennessee responded by scoring four straight points on a Spani jumper and a layup by Johnson - from a razzle-dazzle no-look pass by Stricklen.
Vicki Baugh scored seven straight Tennessee points over a two-minute span, making a pair of free throws at the 12-minute mark in the second half before hitting a jumper and completing a three-point play with 9:55 left in the game.
