TENNESSEE TIDBITS

• With the win, UT improves to 24-6 overall in 2013 and 1-0 in the SEC Tournament
• This marks the 20th straight season the Lady Vols have made an SEC Tournament Semifinal appearance and 30th appearance (in 34 tournaments) in the semis
• Tennessee will face the winner of the South Carolina/Texas A&M game, Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
• The Lady Vols are now 46-3 all-time against the Gators and 2-0 this season, riding a nine-game win streak
• When facing UF in postseason action, Tennessee extends its streak to 8-0
• The Lady Vols earned their 10th consecutive SEC Tournament victory with the win
•They are now 70-17 all time in SEC Tournament play

TROPHY RECOGNITION

•Prior to tipoff, the Lady Vols were honored with their 17th SEC regular season trophy. UT claimed the outright conference regular season championship with an 82-72 win over Texas A&M at Thompson-Boling Arena on Feb. 28.

ELZY HONORED

• Former Lady Vol and current assistant coach Kyra Elzy was honored at halftime of the game as she was recognized in the 2013 Class of SEC Greats
•Elzy played for Tennessee from 1996-01 and is in her first year on staff at UT

FOR STARTERS

• Today's starters: freshman Bashaara Graves, senior Taber Spani, senior Kamiko Williams, sophomore Ariel Massengale and junior Meighan Simmons
• Simmons is the only Lady Vol to start every game this season
• Williams made Tennessee's first bucket for the second time this year as she made a lay-up
• Sophomore Cierra Burdick the first off the bench for Tennessee

SPREADING THE OFFENSE

• The Lady Vols had six players score in double figures for the third times this season, led by junior Meighan Simmons' 20 points
• The last time six Lady Vols scored in double figures was at Texas on Dec. 16, 2012 (Previous - Alcorn State - Nov. 25, 2012)
• Along with Simmons, Burdick (14), Spani (13), Williams (12), Massengale (10) and Graves (10) also hit double digits in scoring
• The SEC's leading scorer, Simmons has now scored in double figures in 18-consecutive contests and 27 of UT's 30 games this season
• Burdick led the effort on the boards as she pulled down eight rebounds
• The Lady Vols shot 48.2 percent from the floor

BATTLE OF THE THREES

•UT finished the game with five three-pointers, led by Simmons' four
•The Lady Vols wrapped up the first half going 4-8 in 3-point field goals as Meighan Simmons drained three
•Florida sank six treys during the opening half and finished the game with seven, led by freshman Carlie Needles' four

GAME DECIDED ON THE LINE

• UT ended the game sinking 23-of-28 free throws, the deciding factor in the game. The Lady Vols held Florida to just 6-of-7 shooting from the line
• Massangale finished the game making just as many free throws (6-for-6) as Florida (6-for-7) •Tennessee wrapped up the first half going 15-of-18 from the free throw line. Sophomore Ariel Massengale (4-4), senior Kamiko Williams (2-2), sophomore Cierra Burdick (2-2) and senior Taber Spani (1-1) were all perfect from the charity stripe in the first 20 minutes of action

SIMMONS SINKING SHOTS

• Junior Meighan Simmons recorded her 27th game this season in double figures, and 22nd game scoring 15 or more points
• Today's game also marked the 10th time this season the Simmons has tallied 20+ points
•With Simmons' 20 points against the Gators, she passed Shelia Collins (1,423) on UT's all-time career points list with 1,432
•Simmons was 1-6 combined in the last two games from the 3-point line and finished today, 4-5
•It is the fifth time this season she's had four three-pointers in a game, tying her season and SEC high

SPANI MOVES UP IN THE RECORD BOOK

• With Spani's one 3-pointer today, she tied Sidney Spencer (133) for eighth on UT's all-time three-point field goals made chart

BREAKING GLASS

• Tennessee outrebounded the Gators, 37-34, recording its 23rd game this season grabbing more boards than its opponent
• Led by Burdick, the Lady Vols had three players with five or more rebounds against the Gators (Burdick, 8; Spani, 7; Graves, 6)
• In the first half, UT outrebounded Florida 21-17

BIG LEAD FOR BIG ORANGE

• Tennessee led by as many as 13 in the first half on three different occasions (14:26 mark; 1:30 mark; 0:54 mark)

AT THE HALF

•At the half, UT led Florida 47-36
•All seven Lady Vols who saw action in the first half had at least one rebound and one point
•Junior Meighan Simmons led the team in scoring with 11 points, while senior Kamiko Williams added 10
•Senior Taber Spani grabbed a team-best five rebounds in the first 20 minutes of action, while sophomore Cierra Burdick brought down four boards
•The Lady Vols outrebounded Florida 21-17
