Tennessee Game Notes: at Virginia, November 22, 2009, Game #3 - 3-0, 0-0 SEC


• Today's starters: junior Angie Bjorklund, sophomores Kelley Cain, Glory Johnson and Shekinna Stricklen, and Taber Spani

• Three Lady Vols scored in double figures: Bjorklund (24), Stricklen (20) and Johnson (14)

• UT took its first lead of the day (9-6) on an Alicia Manning three-pointer at the 15:57 mark of the first half

• The Lady Vols used an 11-0 run to build a 13-6 lead with 14:25 to play in the first half

• The 40 points are the most first half points Tennessee has scored this year

• The largest Lady Vol lead of the first half was 13 at 7:23; their largest deficit was four at 18:21

• UT outscored UVA 37-30 in the second half

• Tennessee outrebounded Virginia 46-42; UT has led on the boards in all three games

• Tennessee led at the half for the second time this season. In those games, UT is 2-0

• The Lady Vols made a three-pointer for the 376th consecutive game

• Today's attendance was 11,895, setting a new record for a women's game at Virginia

Freshman Taber Spani:

Finished with eight points and four rebounds

Sophomore Glory Johnson:

Had the Lady Vols first basket of the game - a layup at the 18:06 mark of the first half

Recorded her 18th career double figure scoring output

Finished with 14 points and six rebounds

Sophomore Kelley Cain:

Finished with six points, six rebounds and six blocks

The six blocks are one off her career best and tie her for third in a single game in UT history

Sophomore Shekinna Stricklen:

Has had at least five assists in the first three games

Her six assists are a season-high

Notched her 24th career double digit scoring contest, including nine of her last 10 games

Recorded her sixth career 20-plus point performance

Junior Angie Bjorklund:

Scored six points in 21 seconds to give UT a 32-19 lead with 7:23 to play in the first half

Recorded her 34th career double figure scoring game, including eight of her last nine games

Posted her seventh career 20-plus point game

Finished with 24 points and four rebounds

Tallied five three pointers

Named Lady Vol Player of the Game
