Tennessee Game Notes: vs. George Washington, December 1, 2009, Game #6 - 6-0, 0-0 SEC

Notes...
• Today's starters: junior Angie Bjorklund, sophomores Briana Bass, Glory Johnson and Shekinna Stricklen, and freshman Taber Spani
• Three Lady Vols scored in double figures: Brewer (23), Stricklen (17) and Johnson 16
Glory Johnson recorded her seventh career double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds
Shekinna Stricklen recorded her fourth career double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds
• Spani, Bjorklund and Smallbone all tallied nine points
• Tennessee used an 11-2 run over 2:53 to build a 20-12 lead with 12:26 to play in the first half
• The Lady Vols went on a 16-2 run over the final 6:54 to build a 54-24 lead at the half; GW's only two points in that stretch came on a pair of free throws
• UT's largest deficit of the first half was three at 18:25; its largest lead was 30 at 2:37
• The Lady Vols owned a 34-4 edge in paint points in the first half and 54-12 for the game
• Tennessee led at the half for the fourth time this season. In those games, UT is 4-0
• The 54 first half points are the most in the opening stanza for UT this season and the most in the first half since UT scored 56 en route to a 98-55 win against Arkansas at home on Jan. 24, 2008
• Tennessee scored 80 points for the second time this season. In those games, UT is 2-0
• The Lady Vols passed the 90-point barrier for the second time this season. The first came against Texas Tech; UT won 91-53 over the Lady Raiders
• Tennessee outrebounded George Washington 49-40; UT has led on the boards in all six games
• The Lady Vols made a three-pointer for the 379th consecutive game
• Tonight's attendance was 12,840
• Tennessee will finish off a three-game homestand when it hosts the #17/17 Texas Longhorns on Sunday, Dec. 6. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Sophomore Glory Johnson:
Had seven of UT's first 14 points
Recorded her seventh career double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds
It is her second double double of the season; the first came at Middle Tennessee (21 pts, 12 rebs)
Notched her 21st career double figure scoring game and ninth career double digit rebound effort

Sophomore Alyssia Brewer:
Scored a career high 23 points and grabbed a season high seven rebounds
Named Lady Vol Player of the Game

Sophomore Kelley Cain:
Did not play after suffering a concussion against UCLA

Sophomore Alicia Manning:
Finished with a career high six assists, to go with five points, five rebounds and four steals

Sophomore Shekinna Stricklen:
Notched her fourth career double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds
It is her second double double of the season; the first came against Baylor (25 pts, 14 rebs) Recorded her 26th career double figure scoring game

Junior Angie Bjorklund:
Had the first Lady Vol basket of the game - a three just 32 seconds into the contest
Moved past Shannon Bobbitt for sole possession of fourth in the UT record books with a three at the 19:28 mark of the first half
Bjorklund now has 150 career threes; Brittany Jackson is in third place with 161.
