Tennessee fans will have another way to show their support for legendary head coach Pat Summitt during the SEC's "We Back Pat" Week.
A billboard of fans' signatures is being compiled outside Neyland Stadium's Gate 21. Signing time is from 3-5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Fans are invited to donate $1 and sign their name, with proceeds supporting Alzheimer's Tennessee. "We Back Pat" T-shirts also are available for purchase at the Tennessee Traditions store inside Neyland Stadium.
Sunday, a season-high crowd of 17,879 saw the Lady Vols roll past Vanderbilt 87-64 in the first of Tennessee's two home game recognitions.
The SEC and all 12 member institutions are participating in the week-long initiative focused on bringing awareness to The Pat Summitt Foundation Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and its fight against Alzheimer's disease.
During this week's 17 women's and 12 men's games, various efforts are being made to increase awareness of The Pat Summitt Foundation Fund. Twenty of the 29 games are being televised.
In a videotaped statement shown during the announcement of The Pat Summitt Foundation Fund, Summitt said, "Tyler and I have decided to join this battle, not just for us, but also for the millions of families affected by this disease. I have always told our players, our greatest opportunities are disguised as our greatest obstacles. It is time to treat this obstacle as an opportunity and a stepping stone to a cure."
