LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- No. 5 seed Tennessee returned to the KFC Yum! Center on Sunday, as the team tackled a 30-minute media session and spent its allotted two hours of practice time in preparation for Monday night’s NCAA Second Round match-up with No. 4 seed Louisville.
The Lady Vols (20-11) will take on the #13/12 Cardinals (28-7) at approximately 6:45 p.m. ET on Monday with the game being broadcast on ESPN2. Tennessee will be vying for its 35th NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. The team is 28-0 all-time in NCAA Second Round contests.
Tennessee defeated No. 12 seed Dayton, 66-57, to advance out of the first round, while Louisville took care of Chattanooga, 82-62.
The Big Orange and UofL will meet for the fourth time. The Lady Vols lead the brief series, 2-1, claiming a victory at the KFC Yum! Center in the hosts’ debut here in 2010 (86-56) but losing to the Cards in the 2013 NCAA Regional Final in Oklahoma City (86-78).
