COLORADO Springs, Colo. - Four of the nation's top collegiate standouts, including Cierra Burdick (Tennessee/Charlotte, N.C.), Sara Hammond (Louisville/Mt. Vernon, Ky.), Jewell Loyd (Notre Dame/ Lincolnwood, Ill.) and Tiffany Mitchell (South Carolina/Charlotte, N.C.) have teamed up to compete in the 2014 USA Basketball 3x3 National Championship, scheduled for May 9-11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The four athletes, playing under the moniker "Takeover," will compete against seven other 3x3 teams for the championship trophy. The winners of this weekend's tournament will be named as the 2014 USA Basketball 3x3 World Championship Team and will earn the right to defend the USA's 3x3 World Championship title at the 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Championship, scheduled to be held June 5-8 in Moscow, Russia.

Burdick, a rising senior, started 25 of Tennessee's 35 games in 2013-14, averaging career bests of 8.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest. She helped the Lady Vols to a 29-6 overall record and SEC Tournament title, earning all-tourney accolades for her play.

In addition to the USA Basketball 3x3 squad, nations competing for the 2014 3x3 World Championship gold medal will be: Andorra, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, host Russia, Spain, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda and Uruguay.
