KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Cherokee Country Club was the site Monday, as the Pat Summitt Golf Tournament was played under sunny skies and money was raised to benefit the Helen Ross McNabb Center.
UT Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Dave Hart was among those playing for the cause, and Lady Vol Head Women's Basketball Coach Holly Warlick stopped by to show her support to Summitt, the head coach emeritus for whom Warlick played and coached alongside at Tennessee.
The Helen Ross McNabb Center provides mental health care, substance abuse treatment, and other social services to more than 13,000 children, families and adults to those with the least resources. Helen Ross McNabb Center is a leader in the East Tennessee region in mental health treatment and depends on funding from donations to continue these services.
With Summitt supporting the center's mission and efforts, her tournament has raised more than $300,000 and is one of the premier charity golf events in the area.
