KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Lady Vol freshman Bashaara Graves was one of five players scoring in double figures Thursday night, as the USA Basketball Women's U18 National Team cruised past Brazil, 97-36, in an exhibition contest at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.
Graves, a 6-foot-2 forward from Clarksville, Tenn. (Clarksville H.S.), tossed in 14 points, grabbed six rebounds and added an assist in 21 minutes of action. She connected on six of nine attempts from the field and on two of three from the free throw line as the USA displayed 54 percent marksmanship from the floor and 77 percent from the charity stripe.
Team USA outscored Brazil 28-0 in the first stanza and followed with counts of 23-11, 23-11 and 23-14 over the final three quarters.
The U18 squad will resume training Aug. 3-14 and prepare for play in the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship For Women, Aug. 15-19, in Gurabo, Puerto Rico.
