Kamiko Williams |
July 19, 2011
Lady Vol junior basketball guard Kamiko Williams has been spending a lot of time in the training room this month rehabbing her left knee after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Williams suffered the left knee injury on July 7 while playing in the Women's Pilot Rocky Top League at the Christian Academy of Knoxville. She was driving the baseline and went in for a reverse layup when the injury occurred.
Since her injury, Jenny Moshak, University of Tennessee Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine, has been working with Kamiko in preparation for ACL reconstructive surgery.
This afternoon, we caught up with Williams, a rising 5'11" junior from Clarksville, Tenn., who averaged 6.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 17.9 minutes per outing as a sophomore.
