KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- In the Tennessee women's basketball "Meet The Rookies" spotlight this week is Jordan Reynolds, a 5-foot-11 guard from Portland, Ore.
Reynolds, who played AAU basketball with fellow Oregonian Mercedes Russell, was ranked the nation's No. 26 player by Women's Basketball Insider and was rated 40th by Full Court and 42nd by HoopGurlz/ESPNU and 53rd by Blue Star.
Like Russell, Reynolds was both a MaxPreps (4th team) and McDonald's All-American. A graduate of Central Catholic High School in Portland, Reynolds registered a double-double at the McDonald's All-Star Game in Chicago on April 3. She tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds to help the West claim victory in the contest.
Reynolds averaged 18.5 points per game as a senior, earning first-team all-state honors for the second season in a row. Her play enabled CCHS to win its first-ever OSAA 6A state championship, as she scored 15 points and added 13 rebounds and six assists in the title game. The 2012 Oregon 6A Player of the Year, Reynolds was edged out by prep teammate Kailee Johnson in 2013.
When it came time to choose a number at Tennessee, Reynolds picked 0. It will mark the first time in Lady Vol history that a player dons that numeral. You can follow No. 0 on Twitter via her handle: @kobeereynolds.
