- The Lady Vols open the 2012-13 season with an exhibition contest against Carson-Newman College, marking the ninth-consecutive year the two teams have met in an exhibition game.
- Tennessee reached the century mark in seven of the last eight meetings vs. the Lady Eagles. UT won by scores of 105-47, 101-55, 104-49, 135-55, 124-34, 110-66 and 105-40 in 2004, '05, '06, '08, '09, '10 and '11, respectively.
- The game will mark Holly Warlick's debut as head coach at Tennessee after spending the past 27 years as an assistant and associate head coach for Pat Summitt.
