- The Lady Vols will hold their home opener Thursday at 7 p.m. against Rice.
- Tennessee has won the last 12-straight home openers, dating back to dropping a 69-64 decision to sixth-ranked Louisiana Tech on Nov. 14, 1999, in Thompson-Boling Arena.
- UT is coming off a 71-54 victory over No. 22/20 Georgia Tech on Sunday, where freshman Bashaara Graves led the team in points (18) and rebounding (12), recording her first career double-double.
- This will mark the first meeting between Tennessee and the Owls.
