PAT SUMMITT IS THE WINNINGEST COACH IN NCAA BASKETBALL
Coach Pat Summitt etched her name in the record books once again during the 2004-05 season when she broke Dean Smith's NCAA total wins record of 879. She earned her 880th career victory on March 22, 2005 in the Lady Vols 75-54 victory over Purdue in the NCAA Tournament. She then became the first men's or women's coach to reach the 900-win plateau, with an 80-68 victory over Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., on January 19, 2006.
