On behalf of The University of Tennessee Athletics Department, welcome to Tennessee basketball. While cheering for your Volunteers, please remember to show good sportsmanship at all times. Help provide a safe and fun environment for everyone involved. We ask that you refrain from throwing objects of any kind onto the court, and regardless of today's outcome, be supportive of your team by recognizing great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

In the spirit of sportsmanship, fans shall:

  • Conduct themselves in a manner that represents UT, the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA with honor, dignity and respect
  • Demonstrate qualities of civility and sportsmanship at all times
  • Not use vulgar, abusive, racist, sexist, demeaning, or intimidating language at any time
  • Support the players, coaches and officials in the positive manner
  • Treat the visiting team, coaches and fans with courtesy and respect at all times
  • Not engage in cheers that are vulgar, crass or demeaning
  • Refrain from throwing objects onto the field for any reason
  • Not become inebriated or belligerent
  • Refrain from entering playing and team areas at any time, including the conclusion of the game
  • Be a positive role model for those around you by treating others with courtesy and respect!


From McGhee Tyson airport: Turn north on U.S. Highway 129 leaving airport. After crossing the Tennessee River bridge just outside of Knoxville, exit onto Neyland Drive (Tennessee Highway 153). Turn left (south) at the bottom of the exit ramp and follow road until Thompson-Boling Arena is visible.

From I-40 east (from Nashville) and I-75 north (from Chattanooga): Follow I-40 and I-75 to I-40/I-75 junction in west Knoxville. Continue on I-40 east to U.S. Highway 129 south. Follow 129 south to the exit for Neyland Drive (Tennessee Highway 153). Turn left (south) at the bottom of the exit ramp and follow the road until Thompson-Boling Arena is visible.

From I-40 west (from Asheville, N.C.): Follow I-40 west to the Hall of Fame Drive. Take a left at the top of the exit and follow Hall of Fame Drive to the Neyland Drive exit (Tennessee Highway 153). Follow Neyland Drive until Thompson-Boling Arena is visible.

From I-75 south (from Lexington, Ky.): Follow I-75 south to I-275 south just past Merchants Road. Follow I-275 to I-40 east. Exit I-40 east onto James White Parkway and follow Parkway to Neyland Drive (Tennessee Highway 153) until Thompson-Boling Arena is visible.

Game day parking for all lots surrounding Thompson-Boling Arena is reserved for season parking pass holders. Improperly parked vehicles or those found in a restricted area will be towed at the owner's expense. Towed vehicles may be claimed by contacting the UT Police at (865) 974-3114. Free parking and shuttle service is available from the Agricultural Campus.

Shuttles will drop off on the north side of Phillip Fulmer Way prior to tipoff.

After the game is over:
Men's games: Ag Campus Shuttle will depart from the South side of Phillip Fulmer Way (closest to arena); Stephenson Dr./Soccer Lot will depart from the north side of Phillip Fulmer Way
Women's games: Ag Campus Shuttle will depart from the north side of Phillip Fulmer Way

Because of construction to the new football complex the corner of Lake Loudon Blvd and Chamique Holdsclaw Drive will be closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Disabled Parking
Free handicapped parking and shuttle service is available from the Agricultural Campus.


Thompson-Boling Arena Ticket Policy
Gates to Thompson-Boling Arena will open 90 minutes prior to tipoff for men's basketball games and 60 minutes prior to women's basketball games.

Tennessee Athletic Ticket Office Guidelines for Thompson-Boling Arena

  • All fans (regardless of ages) must have a ticket for admission to Thompson-Boling Arena.
  • No pass out checks are allowed.
  • This ticket is a revocable license for the ticket holder to gain admission to an event sponsored by Tennessee Athletics. The University of Tennessee reserves the right, without the refund of any portion of the ticket purchase price, to refuse admission to or eject any patron from the event venue at any time, for any reason permitted by law.
  • Incidents involving lost, stolen or destroyed tickets will be addressed with the season ticket holder of record only at the Ticket Office. Photo identification is required.
  • Dates and times on game tickets are subject to change.
  • University policies and state and federal laws will be in effect.
  • The violation of any rules may prevent admission to a Tennessee Athletic event, removal from an event, and jeopardize the violator's admission into subsequent Tennessee Athletic events, including the forfeiture of season tickets and the ability to purchase single-game tickets.
  • Prohibited Items at Thompson-Boling Arena
    The University of Tennessee reserves the right to examine the contents of any container brought into the arena. To protect the safety of our fans, players, officials and staff, the following items are prohibited:

  • Smoking is prohibited in Thompson-Boling Arena at all times
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Cans, Bottles, Coolers
  • Outside food, snacks, beverages
  • Radios without Headsets
  • Open Umbrellas
  • Video Cameras
  • Large bags or parcels, including Backpacks and larger purses
  • Weapons
  • Artificial Noisemakers
  • Please do not attempt to bring these or similar articles in the Arena.

    Permissible Items

  • Cell Phones
  • Binoculars
  • Radios with Headsets
  • Diaper Bags when accompanied by an infant
  • Limited use of cameras. Game action may not be filmed. Consideration of other spectators is expected.
  • Smoking Policy
    Tennessee law prohibits smoking in all buildings owned or operated by The University of Tennessee. Accordingly, smoking is prohibited in and around Thompson-Boling Arena.


    Elevator Pass
    Persons needing elevator access should contact the Event Management Office at (865) 974-1205. A copy of a handicap placard or a doctor's statement of need is required to receive an elevator pass. Each pass is good for two (2) people to use the elevator listed on the pass. Passes must be renewed yearly by mail or telephone.

    ATM Locations
    An ATM is located on the concourse level in the northeast corner of the arena.

    Lost and Found
    Lost articles may be turned in at the customer service center in the arena. Such items will then be turned over to the University of Tennessee Security Office, 1101 Cumberland Avenue, where they may be called for Monday following each game at (865) 974-3114.

    Arena Security There are police officers, ushers, and event security personnel stationed throughout the arena during basketball games. If you have any problems during the game, please locate the nearest police officer, usher, or security personnel for assistance.
